Using Lightroom presets really help you control more than just great lighting. Depending on the look and feel that you want to create in your photography, presets are a perfect way to reflect the right mood. For example, if you want a hot summer feel or more of a cool winter look to a shot, you don’t always have to shoot in the summer or winter to achieve those looks. Using presets to change the temperature and intensity of certain colors in your photography can give you the feel of different seasons whenever you shoot.
If you’re looking for a melancholy or vintage look or a more serene feeling to your imagery, Lightroom presets can also create those effects. In this portfolio example, I have enjoyed taking advantage of the beauty of different seasons and changing the look and feel of the imagery to either enhance the existing colors or to change the mood and feel of the shots.
It’s amazing how many beautiful landscapes surround us every day. Photography has shown me how to slow down and truly embrace the world around me. These shots were taken near my neighborhood over the course of a year. Now that I’m more aware of the world around me, I’m always looking for opportunities to capture interesting shots and then returning to see how drastic that imagery may change over a short or long period of time.
